In "That Was Then, This is Now," why do you think M&M did what he did?

I believe that M & M results to LSD because of his differences.  He is constantly being picked on as a result of his views and style of dress.  He is a very intelligent kid but the fact that he is not the same as everyone else makes him an outcast and looked down upon.  Even his own father complains of M&M's haircut and clothes.  I believe he tries LSD as a means of escape from the world that misunderstands him.
