As society becomes more and more attuned to the untold ways in which employees are mistreated because of their race, sexuality, or gender, a vigilant HR team is more crucial than ever.

A business's success relies on its people. To that end, human resources management is a critical part of any organization, and any manager can and should play a part in it. Human resources plays several important roles in most companies. The first has to do staffing. Human resource managers often are in charge of identifying and hiring the best people for the job. However, every manager who will be involved with a potential hire should be part of the hiring process. A good manager recruits employees who are not only the right fit for the job, but also for the company's culture. Identifying people whose work ethos matches that of the organization will lead to greater workplace satisfaction and productivity overall.

Human resources management is also important to all managers because it involves defining and honing skills within a company. Managing one's employees involves finding ways to keep them truly motivated. There are external motivations, such as pay increases and bonuses. These are traditional ways to encourage good work. However, current trends in HR management involve identifying and nurturing intrinsic workplace motivations. This involves helping employees identify work that they feel good about doing for its own sake. By encouraging employees to stay truly motivated in what they do, a company's productivity will likely increase along with employee satisfaction. Human resource management is an important part of all businesses, companies, and organizations.

One of the main duties of HR is to ensure that employees feel safe—not just physically safe but emotionally safe as well. If an employee feels like a general workplace policy is harmful, or if a specific employee is harmful, they can go to HR to help mediate and solve the problem.

This, of course, is crucial. If you want to manage a thriving, prosperous business, you need employees who are dedicated and focused on improving and advancing your company. Yet it's hard to concentrate on your actual work if you can't conduct it in a safe environment.

For a big, real-life example of the catastrophic consequences that can befall a company if they don't maintain a robust and independent HR department, look at The Weinstein Company. According to one employee, their HR was “a place where you went to when you didn’t want anything to get done."

As society progresses and grows increasingly sensitive to the myriad ways employees are mistreated due to their race, gender, or sexuality, HR departments are more important than ever. To understand the importance of human resources management (sometimes called HR management or just HR), we need to discuss the role that the human resources department plays in an organization. The HR function involves recruiting and hiring staff members, training them, conducting appraisals of their performance and motivating them to do the best job they possibly can. HR also often assumes responsibility for workplace safety and internal communication.

In terms of its importance to managers, an effective HR team within a company ensures that each department employs suitably qualified and trained staff members. HR also provides structures and procedures that are put into place when a staff member needs to be disciplined or have their contract of employment terminated. The HR department also takes care of all the paperwork pertaining to hiring new staff, as well as interviews and hiring processes.

The fact that the human resources department is responsible for maintaining a positive atmosphere in the workplace is also beneficial to managers, as this type of environment is conducive to greater productivity and less conflict in the office.

Human resources management is essential to an organization because of the many different roles it plays.  On one hand, human resources management helps to oversee the process of hiring and finding the best people who can make an organization be successful and establish new horizons for success.  At the same time, human resources management is essential to ensuring that the workplace in which these individuals work is conducive to allowing these individuals to work at their best.  As the modern work setting is becoming increasingly diverse, human resources management is committed to ensuring that this diversity in all forms is understood in the modern workplace.  At the same time, human resources management is critical in seeing that people who work in an organization can engage in professional development and reflection that will make them more effective contributors to the organization's strength.  In these ways, human resources management is vital to any organization's hopes for success and viability in the modern marketplace.
