In the novel From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler, brother and sister Jamie and Claudia hide out (against the rules) in the Metropolitan Museum of Art. They happen to be at the museum while a special statue is on display. It's called the "Angel" statue, and lots of people are coming to the museum just to see it.

Claudia and Jamie go to check out the statue (and the lines of people waiting to see it) when they see a newspaper cameraman taking photographs. At first, Jamie likes the idea of getting his picture taken. On pages 51 and 52, the author writes:

Jamie tried to slow down to the pace of the photographer. He didn't know what he was having his picture taken for, but he liked getting his picture taken—especially for a newspaper.

Luckily, Claudia recognizes this is a bad idea and pushes Jamie away before he gets his picture taken. Why? The clues can be found on page 52:

Claudia sensed danger. At least she remembered that they had run away from home, and she didn't want any New York paper advertising her whereabouts.

She realizes that since the cameraman's camera case has TIMES stenciled on it, he must work for the New York Times—a paper she knows lots of people in their hometown of Greenwich read.

Someone in Greenwich was bound to read the New York Times and tell her folks. It would be more than a clue; it would be like booking anyone looking for them on a chartered bus ride straight to the hideaway.

Right after she thinks this, Claudia shoves Jamie away. She knows that if he's photographed, their adventure could be over.
