Alexander Hamilton believed we needed more federal employees. Alexander Hamilton believed in a loose view of the Constitution. This meant the federal government could do anything unless it was specially prohibited by the Constitution. With a loose view, the size and scope of the federal government would grow. There would be more government departments and agencies. Because of the increased size of the government, more workers were needed. Alexander Hamilton believed in the idea of having a national bank. There would be a headquarter bank in Philadelphia with branches in other cities. In order to have a national banking system, workers would be needed to carry out the functions and responsibilities of the national bank. Because of Hamilton’s beliefs, more workers were needed to run the national government, which would have more responsibilities and obligations.
