Capleton is a musician/vocalist who was born Clifton George Bailey III on April 13, 1967. He was born in Islington, Jamaica. He has contributed to music in that he and other musicians advanced the return of the reggae tradition in dance halls. At an early age he developed a love of the music of Bob Marley & the Wailers and Papa San (a dance hall disc jockey).
