Who is the main character in Paper Towns and why?
The main character in the book Paper Towns is Quentin Jacobsen. Jacobsen is often referred to as Q by his friends and he is the person who is narrating this story. Q has been in love with the character Margo Roth Spiegelman, his neighbor, since they were children. As children they were close friends but as they got older they grew apart, each falling in with a different type of crowd. Q is a nerdy kind of character who overthinks most things and is friends with the band geeks. Due to his love for Margo, he immediately jumps at the chance to help her when she asks. The day after asking him for help, Margo disappears and Q is devastated. He obsesses over her disappearance, believing that he is the only one who truly cares about Margo. He takes it upon himself to uncover and solve the clues that Margo left to lead to her location. Though he and Margo had not talked for years before she asked him for help, Q shows how much he cares for Margo. As he ruthlessly searches for her Q shows his own fierce determination to locate her.
