Who killed Abraham Lincoln?

The man who killed Abraham Lincoln was named John Wilkes Booth.  Booth was a very famous actor (in plays, as there were of course no movies at the time).  He came from a family of famous actors.  Born in Maryland, Booth was also an ardent supporter of the Confederacy.  Booth hated Lincoln and blamed him for the war and for the defeat of the Confederacy.  Booth felt that he had to do something and decided to kill Lincoln.  He shot Lincoln and escaped from the theater.  He was later cornered by federal troops and was shot.  He died of his wounds shortly after being shot.  He was 26 at the time of his death.
