Keith Neudecker is the protagonist and narrator of Falling Man. He is a lawyer in his late thirties who works in the North Tower of the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. He survives the attack somehow, and makes it to the apartment of his estranged wife and son. Throughout the rest of the novel, Keith (and other characters) must deal with the events he has survived even though so many of his friends did not. He also enters into a short (15 day affair) with a survivor of the attack. Three years after the attack he becomes a professional poker player as he pulls farther and farther away from his wife.
