Grover searches for Pan, the patron god of the wild, nature, and shepherds. Pan is said to have the body of a satyr, complete with hindquarters, legs, tail, and horns of a goat. Pan's homeland was originally the foothills of Arcadia. According to Plutarch, news comes from across the seas to a sailor "That the Great Pan is dead."
In the Percy Jackson series, Grover and the other satrys refuse to believe that Pan is dead and search for proof of his continued survival.
Grover ultimately finds Pan in The Battle of the Labrynth.
