The two main characters are Scrooge and the Ghost of Christmas Present. We also see the Cratchit Family. Mr. and Mrs. Cratchit, Tim, Peter, and Martha are mentioned by name.

The spirit and Scrooge also visit a family of miners, as well as Scrooge's niece and nephew, Fred, and their friend Topper.

At the end, we see two children who are boy: "Ignorance" and a girl: "Want". These are more metaphors or spirits then they are real people.
