Good luck on the exam. There are several guides available, most quite good; however Barrons is NOT one which I would recommend. It appears that of the several guides available, each has its own strengths and weaknesses, and some are better for particular subjects than others. For AP European History, I have advised my students to use one of two guides:
- Five Steps to a Five, published by McGraw Hill. A number of my students achieved "5"s" after using this guide and swore by it.
- The Best Test Preparation for AP European History by REA Publishing is my personal preference. It offers concise summaries of the major issues. It also has helpful suggestions on preparing.
If you feel you need help mastering the subject matter, you might examine www.historydoctor.net, a site which I personally edit. I have had fives every year I have taught the course, and it has been helpful to my students.
Good luck in May!
