Which one do you think is better? Life on Earth or Life after death?

Since we're only asking the question of the living, only one segment of the population is being queried.  You should also ask those on the other side to get an accurate response, since they will have experienced both.

Life after death is often presented as idyllic, a place of happiness with no suffering or sorrow, and also as lasting for an eternity. This obviously is quite appealing. The problem is, it is all based on speculation, as there has been no concrete evidence of exactly what constitutes life after death. Near death experiences have provided tantalizing clues, and a fervent belief in a 'better life" after this one provides a great deal of comfort to those who have lost loved ones. Still, until we have a better--more empirical--understanding of what life after death is like, then we are best to stick with the life which we have.

I agree with some of the previous answers. If I knew for sure that life after death existed and that it was as unequivocally appealing as some claim it will be, I'd have to vote for life after death. However, since I have no way of knowing if life after death exists and/or how appealing it may be, I am happy to stick around here under the present circumstances. :-)

I'd have to know if there was life after death, and what it was like in order to answer this question. Operating on the "bird in the hand" principle, I'm going to say life on earth is pretty good, and in any case, it's a good idea to try to make the best of it even if you anticipate an afterlife.

We don't know what occurs after death so we have no way of saying for sure.  If life after death is as wonderful as it is said to be in various religious traditions, then surely it will be better than life here on Earth.  But it is impossible for us to know and, I suspect, impossible for us to fully comprehend what life after death would be.

Even if Heaven is described as the fantastic place most people think it is, I still think that life on Earth is better.  Life after death is not really life.  As wonderful as it might be, it cannot compare to life.  This is why suicide always baffles me.  How can you know you go to a better place?

Wow, what a thought provoking question. For me, it depends upon what is happening in one's life. For example, my life (right now) on Earth is what I would say is better. I have a family and friends whom I cherish. If I left Earth, I would be leaving those who mean the most to me. The only way I could choose life after death would be to not have my family and friends around me.
