Honestly, even foods which one thinks are healthy can become unhealthy based upon what is in it or on it.
For example, a simple spinach salad with carrots, broccoli, and cauliflower can be a very healthy. But, if you add a cup of ranch dressing you are adding 1,184 ( based upon 2 tablespoons of Ranch dressing containing 148 calories) calories to your "healthy" salad.
Like salads, soup can be just as unhealthy based upon what kind of soup one is eating. Many of the cream soups people eat have at least 500 calories in them based upon their base of cream or cheese.
Therefore, an item of food is only as healthy as the ingredients one puts in it. The best soups are those made from vegetable stocks and clear broths. Best ingredients in these soups are vegetables which have not been processed. The best salads are those which stay away from heavy dressings and cheeses.
Simply remember, all things in moderation and one does not have to necessarily worry about what things are "healthier" to eat.
You can't judge which one is better, till you know the contents. A traditional salad (without any dressing, just veggies) vs a traditional vegie soup. Ofcourse the salad wins.
A salad can go unhealthy when these are added: salt, dressings, lots of nuts, served with creams...
A soup can go unhealthy when these are added: salt, lots of fatty products, lots of meat, cheeses....
And so on... Just see the contents and then judge.
it is not just the question of being healthy or not. it is just that which one of it contains all the seven classes of food.if you ask for my opinion i will rather go with soups than salads.
salad and soup are all good for the body.
Cause no increase in weight, and also this is healthy.
