I assume that you are asking about when the French surrendered to Germany in World War II.  That happened in 1940.  If this is what you are asking about, the surrender was signed in the Compiegene Forest.  This site for the surrender was chosen by Adolf Hitler himself for historical and symbolic purposes.  The site was the same one where Germany was forced to sign the armistice to end World War I.  Hitler felt that it would be poetic justice to force France's surrender in the same place that Germany had been shamed 22 years before.
