According to your faith, God is wherever your truth tells you that "it" is. Some people claim that God is everywhere. Others say he is in heaven waiting for the final judgement and watching us down from up there. Kirk Cameron is almost close to declare that he, himself, is the Messiah, as fanatically religious as he is. It all depends in what you belief. Me? I think God is an elusive character created by many interesting individuals. Is there a God? I don't really know. Some of us let life, and not the church, to lead is to wherever it is. However, after losing one of my dearest friends to cancer, it was very hard for me to get down and pray- it did not work. Hence, if God were there, I wish he would show up on time when he is needed the most.

The experiences of the presence of God are not empirical; they are spirtitual, intuitive, transcendental.  Therefore, they cannot be proven entirely.  For this reason, some people feel the need for "mediators" who help to explain and lend more objectivity to the spiritual experiences of just one individual as they connect to many.

In response to Post #3, there are many who believe that a mediator is not needed. God is not necessarily "everywhere," but he is easily found in ones heart and mind. The belief through history is that some people have had revelations which seemed to point in a different direction, and these people have been revered as leaders; this would include people like Luther, Calvin, Buddha, etc. There is no need for a mediator, with the possible exception of the Roman Catholic Church which ascribes to the Pope the title of Vicar of Christ on earth, such that he and his emissaries may have greater access to God's power than others. Many people in various faiths speak to God, as they understand him, through the medium of prayer. The Guru's, Baba's, etc. are simply those who claim to have a better understanding of God's purpose.

Christians believe in one God who exists everywhere at all times.

As far as when/how people experience or "see" God, it is typically in things that are very impressive or that are very emotional.  For example, people often "see" God in nature.  They become awed while looking at the night sky and thinking of the vastness of the universe.  Or they feel the presence of God when they are holding their child and thinking of how miraculous life is.  These are the times when many people "see" God.

Ok. If God exist, why should we need mediater like Guru, Babas..etc to worship God. What a specail power they have that we cant have.

yes this is true! i dont understand this concept either. Maybe they're there so we dontt feeel as though we're talking to no-one...but in Islam no mediator is actually required...

God is everywhere, He can see, hear everything. His being is out of our imagination, so we can't fully understand it
