In the book "Dear Mr. Henshaw" by Beverly Clearly, Leigh writes to Mr. Henshaw telling him about his move. He tells him that after his parents divorce his mother decided to move. He moved to Pacific Grove, California. It is located on California's Central Coast line.
Leigh goes on to explain that his mother had grown up longing for the California breezes. They are now enjoying them where they live. He explains that it very foggy and that golf courses cover the area instead of crops. They live in a little house that was once someones summer cottage. It is a bit in need of repairs.
