When was it women were allowed to go out drinking on their own and similar social outings?

Im looking at feminism and how things have changed these days. Especailly how women go out today, but I need to show the difference.

Obviously, this would have been very different for different families and different places even within the United States.  However, the usual answer for this is that this sort of change started in the 1920s.  Again -- this is the sort of thing that is very hard to generalize because there are not statistics about it and things vary widely, but that is the usual story.

The usual story is that the advent of labor saving devices, of lots of kinds of entertainment like movies, and of cars led to this change.  It is said that these changes gave women the ability to go out and gave them places to go.  As this happened, mores began to change and women were "allowed" to go out on their own more.
