Rowdy and Junior learn that ultimately they are more alike than they are different. Even though Junior leaves and attends school in Rearden, Rowdy realizes that he is not abandoning his Indian culture. They also learn that their friendship is strong enough to endure the hard times and that they are truly there for each other even when no one else cares about them.
