What's the Savage doing when Bernard & Helmholtz come to say goodbye, and where does he go for his self-exile in Brave New World?

At the very beginning of Chapter 18, Bernard and Helmholtz enter John's room (the door is ajar).  They hear him in the bathroom.  The author doesn't exactly say it, but John is vomiting.  John says he has drunk some warm water mixed with mustard to make himself vomit.  The reason for this is that he feels he needs to purify himself after "eating" civilization.

The Savage goes off into self exile in an old "lighthouse" that used to mark a route for helicopters between Portsmouth and London.  The route is no longer in use because it was too dangerous, but the lighthouse is still there.
