One of the easiest ways you can test your peripheral vision, that doesn't require any equipment is the confrontational visual field exam.
1. Have the patient take a seat and look straight ahead at the doctor standing at a distance of five feet or more facing the patient.
2. have the patient cover one eye while the other eye is still focused on the main focal point(the doctor).
3. The doctor will move one of his/her hands around, while the patient has their eye focused on the center mass of the doctor they will have to use their peripheral vision to point out where the moving hand is or how many finger the doctor is holding up
this tests for any defects in peripheral vision with the patient.
