My response to this is to say that it would appear that Syria is in big trouble.  It appears that there is not going to be any way for the violence in Syria to stop any time soon.  This can be seen also from the fact that the Arab League has called today for an international peacekeeping force to be sent to Syria.  If nothing is done, the situation in Syria is likely to deteriorate.  This may end up destabilizing more of the region, particularly Lebanon, which has had close ties to the Assad regime.
