An illustration of the letter 'A' in a speech bubbles

I certainly think that the Dostoyevsky's work is extremely powerful.  Writing in the Modernist tradition, the work does much in terms of expressing the element of being human, possessing freedom, and the complex nature of emotional frames of reference.  The dialectic between the narrator and Liza, the poet and the prostitute, reflects much about the nature of human beings and their place in the world around them.  The dynamic of being a representation of the social setting and then being apart of it, and how both experiences are a part of being human is something that is explored through the work and one that adds to its complexity and depth.
