My main thought about this is that it shows how hard it is to really solve problems having to do with the economy.  The Obama administration could have had a better chance at solving this problem if they had acted more aggressively.  But if they did that, they would have run into a lot more problems with Congress.  Right now, people would be criticizing them even more harshly for helping out people who did not deserve to be helped.  They would have had to help some people who got into bad mortgages by being stupid or greedy in order to help those who really deserved to be helped.  They would be taking money from responsible people to help irresponsible ones.  This helps to show how difficult it is to solve economic problems because of the complexity of the problems and the difficulty of solving them without making too many people angry.
