My main response to this article is that it does not really give anything in the way of proof to back up its claim. It is saying that fundamentalist Islam or Islamism is completely incompatible with liberal democracy. This is a very serious charge to make and yet the author offers no proof of his claim. He says that Muslims are "mentally restricted" in ways that make them incapable of believing in liberal democracy. But all he is doing is asserting this, not proving it through argument. He may be right, but in this article we have no evidence to prove it.
