What would be a good thesis for a research paper on the topic swine flu? In the thesis I need to be about something that hasn't been proven. In my research paper i would prove it.

Before you can do a thesis statement, you need some significant research.  You also need to narrow down your topic some.  Is this an argument paper, such as why we need to prevent swine flu?  Or are you describing the flu and explaining its history?

I agree with Mrs. Monica #3 in that you need to make your topic more specific.  Also, consider how much information are you likely to find on the subject.

Whenever I have students do research papers, I have them start with a question.  By answering it, you have completed your thesis statement.

Ex.  Why are pregnant women more succeptable  to H1N1, and what can be done to lesson the risk.

How about the susceptibility of pregnant women to swine flu? I have seen this possibility bandied about in the press, in newspaper articles and on television. You could investigate what the CDC and AMA say about it. You could also compare other flus to what has been learned about swine flu with regard to pregnant women.

Good luck with your paper!

I do not know how you will be able to get the data needed to prove or disprove any thesis statement. However I am giving below some important issues related to swine flu that deserve to be examined.

  • People are over reacting to swine flu. There are many other diseases more damaging than swine flu that are not receiving as much attention.
  • National across the globe need to cooperate more to combat menace of swine flu effectively.
  • Pharmaceutical companies and pathological laboratories are making exorbitant profits on pathological testing of swine flu.
