An interesting essay topic to explore is the ways in which Beowulf upholds and exemplifies the values of Anglo-Saxon culture, including bravery and honor. Beowulf is a courageous warrior who fights and kills Grendel, Grendel's mother, and the dragon. He and his men behave honorably towards others, as well as each other. They are loyal to their king, happy to help others in need, and fair and honorable in their interactions with each other.
