I think that there are a couple of challenges here.  The first that you need to specify a topic area for your thesis.  Based on what you have read about the book, about what do you wish to write?  Are you going to talk about Herbert's situating of the human state of nature?  Will you discuss the role of leaders in impacting the lives of citizens?  Are you going to talk about how elements of the science fiction represents reality?  Are you going to compare it to the film?  I think that there are several issues that you can discuss, but you will need to narrow it down or at least give a topic area in order to develop a crafted thesis statement.  Once you have identified a topic, the next step will be for you to start figuring out what evidence from the book can be used to support your thesis statement.  I think that the idea of an "amazing" or "great" thesis statement comes from the evidence and details you provide in order to explain or enhance it.  Few can give you that, as that has to come from your own findings and research.
