The question is a bit confusing and more detail could be given for clarification.  In my mind, the question seems to be addressing summary for the Axis Powers in World War II.  The general summary involves the three nations of Germany, Italy, and Japan as forming the Axis Powers.  Their desire to form an alliance came out of political and military convenience, when Italy and Germany recognized that an alliance could yield great benefits in their desires to appropriate more nations under their control.  The alliance system also helped blunt international condemnation in that nations could find solidarity and strength in one another as shelter from other nations' disdain.  Japan found themselves in this position as a response to their expansionistic claims on nations in the Pacific.  The Axis powers posed a very significant threat, and with agreements brokered between Germany and Russia, there became significant fears about the growth of Axis powers. When the Axis powers turned their attention on attacking and seeking to take over the United States, the Axis was at the height of their power, but this turned out to be a temporary state of being.  The entry of the United States into World War II spelt significant challenges for all three primary nations in the alliance.

One very important note about the power of the axis countries was the split that always existed between Hitler and Stalin.  Neither one actually trusted the other, and as soon as it became apparent that his aims could not be accomplished working with Stalin, Hitler turned on him and invaded Russia.

This more than any other factor likely spelled the end for the Axis powers.  Germany blunted the incredible power of its army in an endless bloodbath across Eastern Europe and into Stalingrad and this allowed England and the US to enter the war on the Western Front without facing the real power of the German armies.

Thanks to immense sacrifices including millions of deaths both civilian and military, the split between Russia and the rest of the Axis powers spelled their doom.
