Chevron, like all oil companies, have many considerations to mull over. Let me name three of them.
First, these companies need to take safety much more seriously. The oil spill in the Gulf last year was a disaster. BP was not great when it came to safety. This is something that all companies now need to consider at great length. As you might know, easy oil is getting more difficult to obtain. In other words, these companies now need to drill deeper, which causes more safety risks.
Second, these companies are extremely profitable. In light of this, they need to consider how they want to be charitable and help with environmental causes. I believe that these companies have a social responsibility.
Third, these companies need to consider what other areas that they want to invest in, because as oil runs out, they will need to reinvent themselves.
