  • It has the world's largest zone of the "Mediterranean climate" that is good for agriculture.  
  • This means it had a larger variety of plants.  The larger variety meant there were more kinds of plants that could be domesticated.
  • It has a wider range of altitudes and topographies in close proximity to one another.  
  • It had many species of large domesticable animals.
  • It didn't have that many resources for hunter-gatherers and so people who started farming didn't have to compete with hunter-gatherers.
