What are the ways in which Shakespeare manipulates our response towards and away from both main characters in King Richard II, Richard and Bolingbroke

Pay specific attention to what each character says, and how much they each speak.

Richard goes on and on and on and on for lines and lines and says alomst nothing of substance.

Henry Bolingbroke only talks when he has something to say.  He says what he means; it means something important, and that's it.

And this directly reflects what kind of men they are.
