Elie spent his time at the electrical parts warehouse sorting and classifying the various types of parts that were stored there. "Sitting on the ground, we counted bolts, bulbs, and various small electrical parts." Elie was also involved in moving materials from storage to train cars for shipment to locations where they were needed. "Another time we were loading diesel motors onto freight cars..." The work  at the warehousewas menial and tedious, but it was not overly physically taxing and was not dangerous in and of itself. The main risk involved the danger of incurring the wrath of Idek, the Kapo supervisor of Elie's group.
