What tool would you use to find mass?

The fact that you have this question reveals the abysmal status of our school funds, and/or that your science teacher is recycling materials.

Back in the olden days, i.e. the 20th Century, we measured mass using a triple beam balance.  Similar to a scale, but measured mass in g, rather than weight (gravitational force) in Lbs.

Today, in the 21st Century, we use an electronic balance that can automatically compensate for container mass, and measures both weight and mass.

You have to remember back to your class, is your class still using the old triple beam balances, or did your school invest in electronic balances?  Most likely its the triple-beam balance.
