There are many different themes in the novel. The three most obvious themes would be persistence, acceptance, and "true" love. All of these are developed in different ways. True love is the most obviously presented theme; Grace and Sam fall in love no matter what their circumstances. Persistence is developed due to the fact that Sam has watched Grace and been in love with her (he hasn't given up on her) for nine years! Acceptance is shown in the fact that Grace loves him even though he's a part-time wolf.
