Junot Diaz's This is How You Lose Her is a collection of short stories which are thematically connected in that they all relate to men's tendency to cheat in relationships that are meant to be monogamous. Taken together, they tell the story of a man's journey to overcome his internalized tendency to view women more as prizes than human beings.

In The Sun, The Moon, The Stars, Yunior is trying to salvage his relationship with his partner, Magdalena, and takes her on holiday to Santo Domingo in order to achieve this.
