An illustration of the letter 'A' in a speech bubbles

Legendary high school Coach Eddie Rake is dying of cancer, so many of his former players have returned to see him one last time. Rake has always been a winner, once going four straight seasons without a loss. But his players remember his bad side as well. He was a brutal coach, giving tongue-lashings often and practices that bordered on cruelty. The players who have returned meet in the football bleachers to discuss Coach Rake. Most of them can point to instances in their later lives where Rake's motivational practices paid off for them, and after the coach dies, it is his former players who give the eulogies.
