What strategies have teachers used to successfully engage lower-income students with academics? What strategies have teachers used to successfully engage lower-income students with academics?
This is a good question. Teachers and educators have tried many things to encourage children in lower-income students. Let me mention of a few of them.
First, some educators in the past have provided breakfast for kids. They knew that many kids come to school on an empty stomach and for this reason were not able to concentrate on their school work.
Second, many successful schools also work with parents. They actively bring the parents into the life of the school. They know that successful students will probably have parents who care. Sometimes they even make parents sign a contract.
Third, some educators have made partnerships with other school (wealthier ones) to share educational resources and supplies.
