Many businesses rely on employee's memory to a large degree. This is especially the cases with service businesses and retail businesses. Sales people can increase sales by remembering customers and servers in restaurants need to remember people's faces in order to bring the right food to the right people. Tasks as simple as getting the right pair of shoes from the backroom, bringing a customer another size in a dress, or even a doctor knowing the proper procedures during surgery all depends on memory.
