“Nut oil ‘cure’ for wrinkles” was the headline of an article in the papers this week. It was scarcely a front-page article, of course. Buried on page eight, it started out by saying that British scientists are looking into “a nut oil that might cure wrinkles and awkward skin conditions.”
The article went on to say that “Kukui oil is said to beat fine lines and…even psoriasis.” That makes me really mad…even psoriasis! Grrr!!! But that is another conversation for another day…
If scientists are looking into this stuff, then surely I owe it to myself to check it out. A simple Web search is always a good starting point. It seems there are a number of companies selling kukui nut oil-based products, many of them making claims about how it can completely eradicate psoriasis. This makes me immediately suspicious. I’ve had psoriasis for over 40 years now, and all this time there was a simple cream that can cure it? You mean all that suffering and indignity was for nothing?
