As sex roles in our society have changed, certain products have come to lose their image as products for men only or for women only. These have gone along with general changes in the image of what is masculine and what is feminine.
Perhaps the most obvious such product would be jeans (or pants in general). These were once seen as a product that was practically male-only. Now, both sexes buy pants.
Going the other direction, we see things like manicures and pedicures. It is true that these are still mainly female products. However, more and more men are having these as well. Plastic surgery can also be seen in this way.
We might also look at high technology in this way. Once, cutting edge computer products were mainly for men. Nowadays, women are just as likely as men to buy and own the cutting edge technologies such as smart phones or e-readers.
