What are some moving/serious or funny poems about words/their power/words left unspoken?(The poem "P.O.W." by Alicia Keys is a good example of a serious one.) The poems preferably would flow well/would be good to recite/make a connection with the audience.

When I read this question, the comedian George Carlin came to mind. I have no idea if he has any poems, but he certainly is famous for his work with the power of words.  As a teacher, I don't know if you could use any of his work if you did find a poem; it would depend on the audience as he could be rather uncouth.  I do know that if you listened to him, he would show you the power of words, how people restrict words, and why free speech is so important.  If you have any doubts about the power of words, listen to some of his early work.
