One of the outstanding themes in this novel is the interconnectedness of human beings. The novel consists of many interwoven plots that weave in and out of each other as the story progresses. This style of writing, the content of the plot, and the character's interactions with one another reveal the significance of connection. This is really a character driven novel. It reveals the impact that human beings can have on each other, both positive and negative.
