What are some examples of imagery in Marked in the House of Night series?
The book Marked that is part of The House of Night series by P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast has many examples of visual imagery. When Zoe Redbird enters the House of Night, she has a tattoo on her forehead, which is a visual image. Vampire fledglings do not have a fully colored in crescent moon, but Zoe does. She falls while visiting her grandmother, and the goddess Nyx gives her special powers during an "out of body" experience. This part of the novel requires imagination to "see" it. At the end, Zoe is given more tattoos for showing bravery while creating a circle with her friends and invoking the elements of wind, fire, water, earth and spirit. The description to describe these items and events allows the reader to "see" or expereince them.
