With the modern age and technology came an evolution of not just industries, but also agriculture. Simple farming using the mechanical power of livestock transitioned into an industry fueled by modern equipment, tools, structures and techniques that allowed for large-scale production. This, in turn, has several advantages, which are listed below:

1. More food available throughout the world with greater variety and availability.

2. Cheaper food (larger quantities lead to competition amongst providers, which drives prices down).

3. Less labor. Farmers do not have to work as intensely using their own muscle power. They also do not have to hire as large of a staff to work the fields (this may be seen as an economic disadvantage).

4. Longer shelf life due to new techniques of food preservation (again, some see this as a disadvantage as they are weary of putting pesticides into their bodies for health-related reasons).

By no means is this an all-inclusive list, but I hope it gives you a good start!

Industrial agriculture: A modern form of agriculture which involves the industrialized production of livestock such as poultry and cattle, fish and crops.

It is characterized by innovative techniques designed to increase yield. Techniques include planting multiple crops per year, increasing the use of fertilizers, plant growth regulators, and pesticides.

Advantages of industrial agriculture:

1) crop yield is very high

2) due to the increase in production, food is available at a cheaper price

2) more production with a smaller amount of land

3) lesser dependence on human labor

4) longer shelf lives due to modern preservation techniques

5) due to modern techniques, farmers can practice a variety of crops

6) due to high yield rates, it also aids in eradicating the world hunger problem
