What are some aphorisms about/for high school? My assignment is to come up with ten (10) aphorisms for the new freshman class about school. I wanted to target certain subjects, such as: - fighting, -gossiping, and -school in general. But I'm having a hard time coming up with five (5) more. Can anybody help me, please? XD

High schools exist to spread gossip. I like that one because with so many teenagers around, there will be a lot of gossip. The truth is that the teachers are often involved in the high art of gossip as well, whether they want to admit it or not.

Real life and school should be separate, but if you've ever been to high school you know they're not.

The hard part is realizing/believing it's really not as hard as you keep telling yourself it is.

People fight because they don't know how to ask for what they really want.

Think about what you remember happening when you were a freshman.  Was there bullying on the bus, in the classroom or hallway, on the internet?  Think about you in the lunchroom.  Any special guidelines or universal truths about being in the lunchroom?  How should students behave in study halls?  What about aphorisms which deal with homework or how to discuss questions in class?  Any thoughts about cheating or plagiarism?  What about group work where everyone is supposed to contribute?  Mentally go through your day thinking about where you have to make decisions about what to do.  This should help you think of other ideas.
