The solution of the equation |x| + 4*x = 18 has to be determined.

|x| + 4*x = 18

If there is a negative solution of x, |x| = -x

=> -x + 4x = 18

=> 3x = 18

=> x = 6

As x = 6 is not negative there are no negative solutions.

For positive values of x, |x| = x

=> x + 4x = 18

=> 5x = 18

=> x = 3.6

The solution of the equation is x = 3.6
