The differences between these are significant, given that the Russian Revolution was a communist revolution while the Arab Spring revolutions have had significant religious aspects to them.  That said, the major similarity is that they were both rebellions against oppressive and sometimes brutal regimes.  Both the Russians and the Arabs had been oppressed for long periods of time by dictators.  Both of them started to protest and had their protests suppressed by violence.  In both cases, the violence eventually destroyed the patience of the people, who rose up and overthrew their governments. This is the basic similarity between the two.
