What should a good conclusion for an essay have?
Whether you are writing an essay, thesis paper, speech or basic story, your conclusion is a very integral part of the paper. Your closing is going to start with a transitional statement that indicates you are bringing your writing to a close. Then you need to go back and give a synopsis of your essay indicating the points made in the body of the essay. In conclusion you can end it with a challenge, call to action, or a quote.
All writing has three basic parts: an opening (say what you are going to tell), body (tell the story), and closing (say what you told). Many times the closing will be the same as the opening just worded differently. Some people will skip reading the body and go right to the closing. If your closing is precise and interesting enough, an attention getter, it will give the reader a reason to go back and read the paper, story or essay.
