The Wedding is the sequel to Nicholas Sparks most popular novel The Notebook. (published 1994)  Just as the first book was written and set in New Bern North Carolina, The Wedding is too. Published in 2003, the love story examines the relationships between men and women by working to weave in the beautiful, calm setting.  New Bern, a traditionally small southern town emulates the traditional matrimonial values examined in both novels.

Most of Nicholas Sparks book take place in coastal North Carolina, his home since moving from Sacramento, California in 1992.
