What is the role of a person emotions when they think critically?

Emotions have no role in critical thinking.  The only thing they can serve to do is to cloud one's ability to think critically.  Critical thinking is a rational and logical process.  It seeks to get "under" one's emotions, prejudices and desires.  It seeks to be impartial and relentlessly honest.  Emotions do not help to do any of these things.  Emotions can only get in the way of things like honesty and impartiality.  When we allow our emotions to participate in our thought process, we are unable to think logically and rationally.  Therefore, emotions have no positive role in critical thinking.
